Picture it, June 2010, iPhone 4 was released. Glass front and back with an antenna being wrapped around the steel band to obtain better service. I thought all my problems would be fixed. Little did I know, they got worse. I kept hearing that Verizon had amazing service, but their unlimited data plans would be going away soon. I jumped shipped last year going from the iPhone 4 to the Droid X to secure my contract with Verizon and get locked into their unlimited data plan for $30/month.

Fast forward to summer 2011, Verizon will finally get rid of their unlimited data plan. If you currently are not on an unlimited plan on any carrier, this will be your last chance to secure an unlimited data package on big red. Verizon is the Gucci of all U.S. cell phone providers. This is NOT my opinion, but a fact! Okay, I may be stretching the truth a bit. However, overall, Verizon does have the best coverage with the fewest dropped calls.

If you were to switch to a 4G LTE phone on Verizon’s network today, you still get unlimited data for $30/month. Next month Verizon will follow AT&T and no longer offer unlimited data. If you have not jumped ship yet, you need to! In an article I read a couple weeks ago, AT&T‘s own CEO even admitted that their LTE network will be pitiful compared to Verizon’s. AT&T claimed they won’t catch up to Verizon’s LTE network until 2013 or 2014!

I’ve safely been secure on Verizon’s unlimited data plan since last year. I know I probably jumped ship a little too early. But, it’s better to be safe than sorry. This will be your last chance to get an unlimited plan on Verizon. Switch now if you haven’t already!
